COLONOSCOPY
A colonoscopy is a visual examination of the entire large intestine, also known as the colon. This exam is used to explore possible causes of abdominal pain, rectal bleeding, chronic constipation, chronic diarrhea and other intestinal problems. A colonoscopy is also used as a method of screening for colon cancer.
UPPER ENDOSCOPY
An upper endoscopy, also known as esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), is a procedure used to determine the cause of gastrointestinal disorders and symptoms including heartburn, Barrett’s esophagus, the presence of hiatal hernias, the cause of abdominal pain, unexplained anemia, and the cause of swallowing difficulties, upper GI bleeding, and the presence of tumors or ulcers.
FLEXIBLE SIGMOIDOSCOPY
A sigmoidoscopy is an internal exam of the lower part of the large intestine (colon) using a short, thin, flexible lighted tube. The tube, called a flexible sigmoidoscope, has a tiny camera at the tip allowing the doctor to view the inside of the rectum and the sigmoid colon—about the last two feet of the large intestine. A small biopsy instrument to remove tissue samples to be checked under a microscope for signs of disease can be performed during the examination.
ENDOSCOPIC ULTRASOUND
Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) is a procedure that is typically performed under anesthesia. It is an internal ultrasound that can be performed alongside a traditional Upper Endoscopy (EGD), for the purpose of evaluating the organs adjacent to the stomach and duodenum – namely the pancreas, bile tubes, gallbladder, ampulla, and liver.
HEMORRHOID BANDING
Hemorrhoids, which are swollen veins in the anus and lower rectum, can cause pain, itching and bleeding. If your hemorrhoids are highly symptomatic (bleeding), your doctor may recommend hemorrhoid banding. Hemorrhoid banding is a non-surgical and non-invasive, in-office procedure. During this procedure, the doctor will place a rubber band around the hemorrhoid to cut off the blood supply, causing it to wither.
HEMWELL™
Hemwell™ is a painless procedure conducted under sedation for patient comfort. Our approach employs a low-level, direct electrical current, comparable in strength to a pacemaker, to gently and precisely reduce blood flow to the affected hemorrhoids. The Hemwell hemorrhoid treatment is minimally invasive, precise, and highly effective.
